Art class isn’t limited to the Art room and it isn’t limited to one grade level at a time. This week 6th grade students visited the Kindergarten classrooms and they worked collaboratively on an awesome project.
The students began working on a storybook. In small groups, they met to brainstorm ideas about the book. 6th graders served as the group leaders, helping to guide the kindergarten students with help and encouragement throughout the process. They will meet a couple more times before the final project is complete.
Each book will include original words and illustrations. The book will be at least 10 pages in length and must be a combined effort by the students in both grade levels. This is a perfect example of Holy Family students and teachers working together! This project involves multi-age groups and cross-curricular activities. These are just some of the reasons why Holy Family is such an amazing learning community.
