Sophomore Service

Each fall and spring Holy Family hosts sophomore students from Notre Dame High School in a program called Sophomore Service.  Groups of ND students visit Holy Family for the morning.  They spend time in the classroom and attend weekly mass with the school.  It is and opportunity for the older students to help with small groups or group projects.  It establishes and nurtures a connection between ND and Holy Family.

As part of their Theology 10 course, the students serve in the community once each semester.  They have the opportunity to visit the Community Kitchen and/or our school.  A 500 word essay is submitted describing their experience in the fall.  This program serves to encourage students to give service to their community.  The Holy Family students enjoy having the “big kids” in the classroom for the day.  Holy Family alumni enjoy coming back to see their old school to take a trip down memory lane.

We are grateful for this connection and to the students for sharing their time with us.  We look forward to each visit!
